Annual Hancock Swimming

I couldn't resist this adorable picture of Nikki and her little boy Chase. Nikki is such a cute mom. I wish I would have taken more pictures. Ashley Hancock (do not know the married name) is 3 days overdue with their first baby and she is huge. She's a tiny little gal anyway and not a bit of extra weight anywhere except a big baby boy waiting until his time. Her sister Shae flew in from New York a week ago hoping to be here for the birth but she is flying home tomorrow. Unless Ashley has that baby tonight then Shae will just have to be happy with photos.
I didn't know there was such a thing as an "annual Hancock swim Party." I guess it's going to be and they will try to schedule on the 24th of July. Lots of great food. Uncle Terry had his store people make some great sandwiches and everyone else brought salads, desserts, chips, etc. It was great.
Waving hello.
Cute picture. That has got to be one of the few times grandpa has actually looked at a camera. Caitlan looks darling no matter what.
The four brothers. Uncle Gene came with a black eye and of course we were saying you had better watch out of Aunt LaVone. The story he tells is he was out watering and he got attacked by a head gate.

The Pool Opening Day

Saturday was the official opening ceremony of the Hancock Swimming Pool. Braxtyn was the first grandchild in the pool. Ryan could be the first grandson. The first picture here was with Braxtyn balancing. She was getting good at it so Joel and Seth took it upon themselves to create big waves and see how long she could remain standing.
The wave machines.
Strategies were planned from these two in order to knock Braxtyn off. Of course we also witnessed diving competitions, jumping into little tube competitions, flipping competitions, things that Joel couldn't do competions. I'm not sure this little pool can handle all that you "guys" have to do in order to do "guy stuff."
You can't see the picnic table but it's right behind these chairs. I refinished the table that David built years ago. It looks great David.
Braxtyn didn't take those goggles off the entire time. She's quite the swimmer. She can't wait to swim with all the other girls.

Final Pool Update

This will be the final blog set aside for swimming pool. The fence has been completed for some time. It's very nice and offers privacy and shade on the west end for the late afternoon. I have some work to do here on getting some new yard in.
Liner in on Saturday. Yea.
Most of the flowers on the back fence went the way of ....who knows once the fence came down. A few survived.
Caitlan and I sitting on the bench in the pool Sunday evening. The water was to our ankles. The fence in the background comes to the half way part on the deck and that will give some shade in the afternoon. There is also an umbrella stand placed in the cement right about where my hat is. Lovely hat by the way. Thank you Doug. We have matching hats.
Joel couldn't wait. On Sunday he dove into the deep end.
He's having fun and it wasn't cold at all. The sun is warming it up as it fills. It is now full and the filter is running. Tonight is Tuesday. They are installing the diving board tomorrow and the slide once it arrives. Almost finished. Certainly swim friendly. Last Pool blog so you all need to come and check it out.

4th Of July

This was one of the "floats" in the July 4th parade in West Weber. Do not be showing this to my brother Tommy....He'll be wanting one.
July 4th! Sofie showing off her flag. She was a participant in the West Weber 150 year celebration.
We had floats. As a matter of fact I understand there were 48 entrants. I'm also sure there were a few others that showed up with decorated bicycles, boys shooting squirt guns from 4-wheelers, etc.
Free cotton candy....if you are awake. Sorry Evelyn.
Cute girls to wave. That's what the parade is about. I think there were more kids on the floats than actually watching the parade.
Free ice cones. Whatever they are called.
Lexie showing off her face painting. We all had a great time.

All About Paul.....Again.

After I sent the birthday blog I thought I should have included some mission pictures. Here they are now. I actually had a hard time finding Paul in very many photos. There were plenty of pics of dead pigs for sale....what's up with that?

These pictures come with no caption so if someone has been to Barcelona maybe they can tell us where this is near.
He said he's loving the people. I think most of those they teach are not Spaniards. These people look South American.
So close but not to hop in.
He probably had more luck sharing the message of the Savior with this fellow than he did with many others. In one of his e-mails he said, "You ask me about my investigators and I have to say....we usually don't have any. I'll tell you if we do." I guess that's a nice way to tell us to quit asking.

Happy Birthday Paul.

Even though Paul is in Spain I had to post some pics and wish him a Happy Birthday. Tomorrow PJ will be 20 years old. I remember sitting in the shade under a tree on the 4th of July while you other kids played in the old North Ogden swimming pool. Now here it is such a short time later. This picture was taken with the crown from Junior Prom King. We were giving Paul a hard time about "being a King."

Cute picture of Paul. There doesn't seem to be too many with him actually smiling so I had to include Seth. We can think of it has Seth's half birthday.
Paul and Blitz. Blitz was probably 3 month old.
This was Blitz on Christmas 2005. Paul wasn't allowed to have him until a week later but the owners let him drive over and get him everyday and bring him home for a few hours. When we did get Blitz on New Years Day he never whined or cried. He was pretty settled in with us.
The Christmas Puppy. I guess it's a good thing Joel left and went on a mission or I probably would not have thought of getting Paul a dog. Paul needed a new friend.
